Ketamine

For patients with treatment-resistant/refractory depression (TRD) we offer treatment with esketamine (Spravato). Depression is considered to be treatment-resistant if it fails to improve adequately after two or more trials of antidepressant monotherapy. Esketamine, so-called because it is the “S” enantiomer of ketamine, is a cutting-edge medication that was approved by the FDA for clinical use in 2019. Esketamine works very differently than oral antidepressants, such as SSRIs and SNRIs, and is administered under physician supervision at our office.

Psychiatric Assessment & Medication Management

Our holistic approach takes into account the underlying biological, psychological, and social factors that contribute to your condition. To this end, your doctor may ask you to do bloodwork or get an EKG, so for your convenience we offer a suite of on-site ancillary services so that you can get these done right after your visit and know that your doctor will receive the results quickly.

Care for All

Our practice provides psychiatric treatment for adults and children 6 years old and older. Regardless of age, we hope that every patient feels welcome, heard, and cared for. Michael Armbruster, M.D. treats adults and adolescents who are 15 years old and older. Ashley Chorath, M.D. and Ritvij Satodiya, M.D. treat both adults and children ages 6 and up.

Telepsychiatry & Office Visits

The term ‘telepsychiatry’ (a.k.a. ‘telehealth’ or ‘virtual visit’) refers to psychiatric services that are delivered via internet or telephone rather than in person. We believe that telepsychiatry significantly expands access to psychiatric services so are pleased to offer this as an option for your first visit, as well as follow-up visits, in addition to office visits.
